Marchesa-Best of Fall 2010

This Fall, we saw a few different looks make waves throughout the fashion shows in Milan, London, Paris and New York. Marchesa chose to pursue red carpet looks that showed craftsmanship folded in with some serious rock and roll.

This line created by Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig was inspired by dancer and courtesan Lola Montez. They brought in the jewel tones in those beauty bright reds- with was so appropriate for the inspiration for the work, but also highlights how brights are making a huge impact this season. There is a spectacular return to color- bright and almost summery- this Fall. This vivid hues usually appearing in accessories such as vibrant bags (think Hermes Birkin in electric hues), YSL bright, honkin platforms and overall return to whimsicality in the accessory. Also, notice a touch of the men's wear trend sneakin in.

Marchesa made a huge impact on my choices for formal wear this holiday season. This collection feature playful gowns, with a uptown maturity and sultry opulence that speaks to the much coveted younger, ready to wear audience. Reminiscent of 1940's, 70's and 80's, Marchesa delivered in this collections.
