ANNA SUI Fall 2010- Layer, Mix and Paste! Anna Sui Plays with Arts and Crafts

I have always enjoyed the creative fever that comes with Anna Sui. All the pieces that we get into Model Citizens by AS are designed with a creative gal in mind. The consistent element though is the quality of fabric and workmanship. Check out one of my favourite Anna Sui blouses below (shown at the Downtown Fashion Show in ST. John's)

So Anna Sui's Fall 2010 collection. Oh let me count the reasons of why I have fallen in love! From the crafty whimsical nature of the graphics and design mixed with the ski bunny we love. Throw in a little 70's sweetheart whipped with a touch of Art Nouveau and you have this collection! The result of these combinations is a fantastic vintage inspired (but NOT retro) is so purely Anna Sui.

To Get The Look:
Never be afraid to mix patterns! Take graphic prints and mix with patterns. Layering is also key to this look- and a fearless attitude. Start with tights and move up. Notice that this show was done with all flat boots- totally Pret-a-Porter. Top off the look with accessories from fingerless gloves, fur hats, fur vert and boleros and scarves. Never be afraid of oversized things when trying to achieve this kind of vibe- it makes it look effortless and so fashion forward.
