Spring Trend Report: Items that Suit Our Crazy Climate

Trench

First of all, every girl and every guy needs a superb trenchcoat. Not only are they one of the most classic and stylish items you can have, but they can be worn in so many ways. Think about it, a classic trench can be worn in the Spring, Summer and Fall and can be a dress coat or a casual coat. There is nothing in the world you will get more use out of than a trench- I promise! This Uniqlo trench was purchased off the rack at MC only yesterday and I am on the hunt for many, many more like it.

Frye Boots

The boots pictured here at a vintage 1970's Frye Boot. These are a must have for the Spring in Newfoundland. The thick leather, heavy soles and sturdy construction make these boots a must have. They can be worn over leggings and skinny jeans or to work with a sweater dress (well before we can bare our legs). The older these boots are, the better. I have a pair of campus style boots from the 70's and they will survive long after I am gone. We get Frye boots in all of the time, you have to be an expert to catch your size, especially if you are a 7-9, as they are the first to go. If you want to request a pair, pop down to Model Citizens and let us know!

Cream Cableknit Cardigan

Good with so much and it can double as a jacket on those days when the temp climbs ever so slightly. This is such a good look for both men and women for Spring. Wear over a striped top and skinny navy pants and you will be rocking that great prep/vintage style that is so hot right now. Or you could go totally bohemian and wear this over a wispy dress, open. We always look for cream cable knit for both sexes as it is just so classic. Check it out below on the beautiful Melanie Caines with vintage cut offs.
