Chelsey's Picks of the Day
Check out this fantastic photo shot by the talented Brian Ricks (www.brianricks.com). We let the boots do the talking in this photo. These leopard print bad boys command a certain presence and we know that Steve can compete. Steve is wearing a great vintage cowboy and Nicole is rocking a great kids vintage leather vest. All is complete with vintage sunglasses- all from Model Citizens.

New Jon Klar in Model Citizens Today!
Jon Klar is a Toronto based Jewelry designer. He studied and mastered the art of Design in Southern California (his place of origin). Exquisite jewelry is made by him by combining various materials with sterling silver. He creates magic with sterling silver and the play of colors, in the disguise of jewelry. He has perfected a way to transform anodized aluminum into beautiful works of art using his own unique technique to hand color the aluminum. Jon studied at the National Ballet school of Canada and travelled around the world as a performing artist, where in India he met his wife Roshan. Together Jon and Roshan built their studio in Toronto, where the jewellery is designed and made by hand.

This was the view from our front window post-hurricane Igor. The whole area was a bit purple. A bit eerie but hopeful. Good Luck to to all in other areas of Newfoundland who have been hardest hit.

Model Citizens Tax Free Sale! This Weekend!

Man Fashion
I feel like I never feature the boys enough. Man fashion is often uncharted territory for most retailers but for MC, man fashion is often the most fun stuff to merch and buy. Guys have a sense of humour and sensibility all rolled into one. Here is my take on the western/leather band look. Ian looks fantastic in a small 80's leather jacket and cowboy, slim jeans and a vintage distressed leather belt. The best part is, this look (at MC) costs under 100.00 to achieve! From the jeans to the jacket, this is the best bang for you buck.

How to Rock the Sequined Jacket-Gaudy but Glorious!
Big vintage trend this year is the Sequined Jacket. Yes, those beauty 80's vintage jackets with the shoulder pads are all the rage. Gaudy but Glorious! But people love the look but never know how to wear them-so MC is here to show you!
First off, pair with a long , loose top. In the photo above we used a vintage tee (perfectly destroyed too) but I think a great scoop neck, loose and long tank would work great as well. Now, always wear with one of two things on bottom: Skinny dark wash jeans or skinny light wash torn up jeans. For footwear opt for a heavy sandal with a good chunk heel for going out! You can also do the flat oxfords if teeter when you walk in heels.
Volia, now you can rock the sequined jacket!
